I love crochet baskets – an additional decorative color spot combined with a comfortable storage solution. In this post I will share with you my free pattern for a basket of this kind with one handle. Children love to put their toys in it and drag them around the house, and we can just hang them in their room at the end of the day, 5 – 6 toilets paper / towels / scarfs etc. can be stored in it.
The materials I used: about 1 kg of T-shirt yarn from the kind that does not stretch, cut to 5 centimeter width and a 10 mm crochet hook.
In order to crochet this basket you will need to know the following technique & stitches:
- This basket is crochet in a spiral method, so you need to place a marker at the end of each round.
- The pattern is written in US terms.
- The 1st round is crochet using a magic ring/loop
- Dec = crochet 2 sc together so 2 stitches will become one stitch
- Inc = crochet 2 sc in the same stitch
Stitches: ch, sc, sl st, reverse sc
The measurements of this basket : base diameter – approx. 25 cm, hight till the handle – approx. 20 cm,
